Airweld originally started in the Mt.Zion area in
1991 as a contractor supply house. The location was moved in 1995 to
the present
location at 2095 East Olive Street. The business evolved
into welding and related industries approximately at this time. Our
company is known for being the only welding supply (in a 70 mile radius)
that is family owned and locally managed by the founders.
Being a green company, we recycled a used vacant Roadway Express
truck terminal for our building needs. Our building is over 60 years
old and has a very interesting history. Originally having over 16
garage doors, and at one time having the largest truck scale in the
area, the building was the largest truck terminal between Chicago
and St Louis until the mid seventies.
Ernest Strate started Airweld and still manages the
firm. He has over 40 years experience in this field. He is supported
by Linda, his wife, who is the Vice President and Secretary Treasurer.
Our Sales Manager and delivery associate is Stuart Strate. Airweld
also offers power tool and welder repairs. This department is capably
managed by Mike Taylor and Bill Workman. All employees work well
together and excel at fast deliveries and turnarounds on your equipment.
